Several 3,6-substituted 1,2,4-trioxan-5-ones have been prepared in good yield by condensing aldehydes and ketones with trimethylsilyl a -[(trimethylsilyl)peroxy]alkanoates in the presence of trimethylsilyl trifluoromethane- sulfonate as catalyst. ...
