Abstract A series of five tripodal tridentate ligands (HO) C [(CH 2) x NR 2](CH 2 SR) 2 (HL 1– HL 5) with {NS 2} donor set has been synthesized via an efficient two-step protocol starting from 1, 3-dichloroacetone.
