Abstract

Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Safat, Kuwait (p-Chlorobenzoy1) phenylacetylene reacted with aniline derivatives to give the# corresponding P-anilino-a-(p-chlorobenzoy1) styrene derivative. NMR, UV, IR, and mass spectra of these compounds are presented. The Hammett correlation is applied to substituent effects on absorption bands. Chemical shift data for the methine proton In these compounds are reported.
