Homosalate, also known as: 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexylsalicylate or 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexylester, which is a typical salicylic acid UV absorber that can absorb ultraviolet rays between 295nm and 315nm of UVB band. It is approved by the US FDA, Europe, Japan, Australia and other countries for use in sunscreen daily chemicals to protect the skin from UVB radiation damage.

Homosalate is widely used in cosmetics and personal care products such as sunscreen and toner.
