In Vitro Uperolein (10-100 ng/mL) is a tachykinin analogue, causes or reinforces rhythmic movements and increases the tone in isolated circular and longitudinal muscle of the human gastrointestinal tract from the stomach to the colon[2].
In Vivo Uperolein (0.1 μg/kg and 5 μg/kg; i.v.; single dose) exhibits stimulation activity on the stomach of the anesthetized rat, displays a noticeable spasmogenic activity on the whole stomach from the fundus to the pylorus[3].
