Polycarbophil can be used as an excipient, such as ointment base, release blocker, thickener, emulsifier. Pharmaceutical excipients, or pharmaceutical auxiliaries, refer to other chemical substances used in the pharmaceutical process other than pharmaceutical ingredients.
