Abstract

Irradiation of 1 in a 2: l mixture of benzene-t-butyl alcohollo with a 2537-A source formed 10 and 11 with no rate enhancement. No phosphorescence spectrum1 'was observed for 1. The suggestion of intramolecular quenching of excited 1 is supported by these observations.
