Abstract

It has been reported5 that acetic acid could be eliminated from 1-nitromethylcyclohexanol acetate with sodium carbonate to give the exo-olefin VI11 (n= 3). When this experiment was performed in our laboratory, the ezo-olefin VI11 (n= 3) was formed. However, the main product obtained was the elzdoolefin IX (n= 3).
