Abstract
CH3CH2CH (Ph) COOH 65% CH3CH2CH (Ph) C03H 60% normal workup, purification, and storage. In all cases, acidic hydrolysis affords the desired hydroperoxides in good overall yield and with excellent purity. Displacement of secondary bromides or iodides proved more troublesome.
