Abstract

The two diasteroisomers of P-phenylserine were required in connection with a biological investigation and a study of their preparation was undertaken. When the synthetic work was initiated, none of the published syntheses of p-phenylserine appeared promising as methods of preparing both diastereoisomeric forms.
