Abstract
Cyanoform exists as dicyanoketenimine (I) in the free state and as hydronium tricyanomethanide (11) in aqueous or aquoethereal solutions. n'evertheless, the addition of various active hydrogen compounds, HZ, to solutions of cyanoform, with the formation of compounds 111, indicates the existence of an equilibrium between the ionized form and dicyanoketenimine.
