Abstract
These peroxides were all prepared by 1, 6-addition of the appropriate Grignard reagent to methyleneanthrone (I) and treatment of the resulting anthranol with atmospheric oxygen. Benzylanthranol peroxide was also prepared by catalflc reduction (1, c-addition of hydrogen) to benzalanthrone in acetone solution, followed by treatment with oxygen.
