April 1999 707—798 (1411, m). 2-(2-Mcthoxybenzyl)-3-[(E)-2-pheny1ethylidene]-1- isoindolinone (22g): IR (neat): 1681 (C=O). Positive FAB—MS m/z: 356 (M+H)+. lH—NMR(CDC13): 3.67 (3H, s), 3.93 (2H, d, J=7.8 Hz), 4.99 (2H, s). 5.57 (IH, t.
