Abstract
In the first paper on the Wolff-Kishner reactionB special emphasis was placed on its utilization in the synthesis of high molecular weight hydro- carbons. Even with the simplified procedure de- scribed in that paper, the necessity of using pres- sure equipment remained. The use of autoclaves, especially in the prepara- tion of appreciable quantities of low molecular weight hydrocarbons from carbonyl compounds, is a distinct drawback.
