Abstract

The preparation of 1-isobutyryl-2-phenylhy-drazine has been reported by several investigators in either very low or unspecified yields. Bolsing and Tafel,'Brunner, 2 Leighton3 (25% yield) and van Alphen4 (38% yield) prepared the hydrazine from phenylhydrazine and isobutyric acid.
