Abstract

Butenandt2 has shown that a number of oxidizing agents, such as permanganate, potassium ferricyanide, perbenzoic acid and iodine with potassium acetate in alcoholic solution, convert rotenone into dehydrorotenone with a loss of two hydrogen atoms.
