Abstract

p-Tolylsulfonylmethylmagnesium bromide (11) reacted with crotonaldehyde, cinnamaldehyde, tmns-4-phenyl-3-buten-2-one, benzalacetophenone, and 1, 5-diphenyl-2, 4-pentadienone, to give the 1.2-addition products in good to excellent yields.
