Abstract

A novel two-step synthesis of isonitrosoacetanilides [2-(hydroxyimino)-N-phenylacetamides] has been developed, involving the initial acylation of aniline derivatives with 2, 2- diacetoxyacetyl chloride, followed by reaction with hydroxylamine hydrochloride.
