Abstract
As a result of the work of Mayer,'who proposed that products formed by oxidation of the amino group were responsible for the mechanism of action of sulfanilamide, considerable study has been devoted to 4-hydroxylaminobenzene~ fon-amide. 2 An attempt was made" to develop a colorimetric method for the detection of 4-hydroxylaminobenzenesulfonamide based upon its unusual behavior to diazotization following acetylation.
