Abstract
Diazomalonaldehyde (II) was prepared on reaction of nitrous acid with aminomalonaldehyde. The main product of its thermic decomposition under various conditions is polymeric formylketene (VIII). The formation of phenylmalonaldehyde (V) during the decomposition of diazomalonaldehyde in benzene, and the formation of compound XI- a by-product of diazomalonaldehyde decomposition-may be explained by ...
