Abstract
Alkaline-earth oxides are readily available materials that possess remarkable chemical properties when thermally activated. Basic sites (H'abstraction sites),'reducing sites2J (electron-transfer sites), and radical sites (H. abstraction sites), have all been utilized on the surface of high surface area polycrystalline MgO.
