Abstract
The thermal alkylation of monoalkylbenzenes by simple olefins at elevated temperatures and pres- sures has been reported.',' It was found that the selectivity of addition of aralkyl radicals to unsym- metrical olefins paralleled the stability of the inter- mediate free radical formed, viz., 111, 11, I in de- creasing order of stability.
