Abstract

The use of isotopes of carbon such as C13 and C14 for biological studies is limited by the present availability of relatively small quantities of isotope. Another difficulty arises from the fact that the synthesis of organic compounds labelled with isotopic carbon may frequently involve condensations which give low yields.
