Abstract
Diethylstilbestrol dimethyl ether ___f Diethylalcohol stilbestrol chloride and 0-methylallyl chloride to he~ atriene~'and 2, 5dimethylhe~ atriene,~~ respectively, under the influence of sodamide in liquid ammonia has. been studied exhaustively. The hypothesis evolved to account for these reactions suggested that a molecule such as anethole hydrobromide should react with sodamide or potassium amide to yield the products shown below. ...
