Abstract

By application of the entrainment method Grignard reagents have been prepared froin some 2-, 4-and 5-halothiazoles. These Grignard reagents have been reacted with aldehydes and ketones to give the corresponding carbinols. In addition the halogen-metal interconversion reaction with n-butyllithium has been successfully applied to 2-bromothkazole, 2, 4-dimethyl- 5-bromothiazole and 2-methyl-4-bromo-5-ethoxythiazole to prepare the corresponding ...
