Abstract A new and efficient catalytic asymmetric synthesis of the potent cannabinoid receptor agonist (−)-CP-55940 has been developed by using ruthenium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of racemic α-aryl ketones via dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) as a key step.
