Abstract

Cross-linked enzyme crystals (CLECs) of subtilisin exhibit excellent activity in aqueous and various organic solvents. This catalyst is more stable than the native enzyme in both aqueous and mixed aqueous/organic solutions. Subtilisin-CLEC was shown to be a versatile catalyst.
