Abstract
a variety of carboxylic acids and alkyl halides are summarized in Table 11. The expected esters were generally obtained in reasonable yields except for tert-butyl and neopentyl iodides (entries 7 and 8). No restrictions were found with regard to the carboxylic acids. Bulky substituents do not affect the reaction (entries 11-13), and no isomerization was observed with a,,!?-and,!?, y-unsaturated carboxylic acids (entries 14-16). The optical ...
