Bp 97 °C/5 mmHg; NMR (CCl 4 ) δ 0.90 (t, 3H, CH 3 -, J = 7 Hz), 1.10–1.60 (m, 8H, −CH 2 -), 1.30 (s, 3H, CH 3 -), 1.98 (d, 2H, −CH 2 -, J = 7 Hz), 2.36 (d, 2H, −CH 2 CO-, J = 7 Hz); IR (neat) 1760 (C = 0), 1260, 1200, 1160, 1140, 950, 930 cm −1 ; MS m/e 170 (M + ).
