Abstract
The reaction proceeds smoothly at moderate temperature and gives cyclopropane derivatives often in good yields. An aromatic hydrocarbon is the most suitable solvent for the reaction. Reactions were carried out in a flask fitted with a reflux condenser and a magnetic~ tirrer.~ Some experimental results are given in Table I.
