Abstract

Presently available pro~ edures”'~ for the preparation of/3-nicotyrine utilize only nicotine as starting material and are handicapped by either low yields or the necessity of using harsh experimental conditions (temperatures of over 300 “C in sealed or electrically heated reaction vessels).
