Abstract
A series of pyrrole/polycyclic aromatic unit hybrid fluorophores was developed by a two- stage synthetic strategy. Their central aryl-substituted pyrrole cores were constructed by a Paal− Knorr pyrrole synthesis reaction. The reaction conditions and mechanism are also discussed in detail.
