Abstract

I-Methylcyclohexanemethylamine has been prepared and characterized. The Demjanov rearrangement of this amine has been investigated, yielding aa products l- methylcycloheptano1 (67%), 1-ethylcyclohexanol (ll%), 1-methylcycloheptene (3.8%), methylenecycloheptane (1.3%), 1-ethylcyclohexene (2.8%), and ethylidenecyclohexane (0.25%).
