2470 BENJAMIN WITTEN AND E. EMMET REID ... Methylpentachlorophenylcarbinol.-l-Pentachlorophen- yl-1-acetoxyethane was rekluxed for four hours in 150 cc. of acetone and 25 cc. of water containing 1 g. of potassium hydroxide.
