Abstract

1, l-Distannyl-l-alkenes of the type RR'C= C (SnMe3) 2 can be readily prepared from (trimethylstanny1) lithium and geminal dibromoalkenes. An extension of this method to include the preparation of vicinal distannylalkenes is in general not possible. Hydrostannation of the geminal distannylalkenes gives tristannylalkanes; bromodestannylation using N-bromwuccinimide occurs readily, as does ...
