Abstract
Conclusion. Platinum catalysts are widely used in hydrosilylation of alkenes. The reaction requires only a small amount of catalyst and is ideally suited for halogen-'or alkoxy-activated silanes and electron-rich alkenes. With relatively unactivated monoalkyl-, dialkyl-, and trialkylsilanes and 1-alkenes, the reaction affords only low yields of hydrosilylation products and is accompanied by side reactions and catalyst deactivation.
