Abstract

Abstract 9, 10-Dihydrophenanthrenes and phenanthrenes, mimics of natural compounds with strong antialgal activity, have been synthesized through cross-coupling of 1-(2-iodo-5- methoxy)-phenylethanol with variously substituted iodobenzenes.
