Abstract

Ananthan, VS Bhadti and GV Ullas Vol. 25 employed, except that the mixture of sodium ethoxide, ethyl cyanoace- tate and methyl isothiocyanate was refluxed for 10 minutes, allowed to cool and stirred at room temperature for 12 hours before being reacted with chloramine. Recrystallization of the crude product from ethanol af- forded 3.0 g (60%) of 6b as colorless crystals, mp 145-147°; ir (Nujol): 3500, 3360, 3300, 3180 (NH), 1680, ...
