Abstract
As catecholborane1.2 and dialkoxyboranes3.4 hydroborate alkenes at a very slow rate they have so far been little used as hydroborating reagents for alkenes. We recently reported that the presence of a catalytic amount of LiBH4 enhanced the rate of hydroboration of alkenes by catecholborane.5 We now report that dialkoxyboranes in the presence of 1% LiBEt3H hydroborate alkenes under mild reaction conditions. ...
