Abstract

Conclusion We have shown that many of the properties of the negative ion SF6-are not consistent with a structure resembling the parent neutral. The lack of photodetachment and the kinetic barrier associated with SF6-ion-molecule reactions are consistent with a highly distorted anionic structure.
