Abstract

Results Hindered Tetraalkylhydrazine Preparation. We first treated I+ with tert-butyllithium in hopes of generating 4, the major autoxidation product of trialkylhydrazine 5.3 We thought that deprotonation of 1+ was a possible way of forming 4, by analogy with homoenolization of 2-norbornanone derivative^,^ but had failed to see reaction of 1'with several weaker bases.
