Abstract

A new family of amino acids which contain an ω-thtoalkylene group on the Na-amino nitrogen was synthesized by alkylation of ω-thioalkylamines with triflates of α-hydroxy acids. The reaction proceeded with inversion of configuration yielding optically pure products. The
