Abstract
(9) The* lP chemical shift for 9, presumed to have formed (although no supporting evidence for ita presence was reported), in the 3-chloroperbenzoic acid oxidation of 7 haa previously been reported aa a single line at 6-6.53 or 6-6.74 (ref 3). In our hands, oxidation of 7 with 3- chloroperbenzoic acid resulted in a mixture of producta, including 9. The chemical shifta of diastereomeric 9 in this reaction solution were 6 1.6 and 6 1.2.
