Abstract

Direct transformation of α-aminoalkanoates and diaryl or dialkyl disulfides to the corresponding sulfenimines by electrolysis in a CH 2 Cl 2–H 2 O–MgBr 2-(Pt electrodes) system and its application to the sulfenylation of C (6)/C (7)-amino groups of penicillin and cephalosporin are described.
