Abstract
We have found a new direct synthesis of alkyltrichlorogermane by the reaction of elemental germanium, hydrogen chloride, and alkene using copper (I) chloride catalyst, in which the reaction intermediate is dichlorogermylene formed by the reaction of metallic germanium with tetrachlorogermane or hydrogen chloride.
