Abstract

Abstract The room temperature hydrosilylation of linear 1, 3-dienes and 1, 3-or 1, 4- cyclohexadienes using octacarbonyldicobalt (0) is described. Both cyclic dimers yield regiospecifically 2-cyclohexenylsilanes. The 2, 3-dimethyl-1, 3-butadiene (DMBD)/HSi (OSiMe 3) 2 Me system has been investigated in particular detail, with variation of the concentrations of reactants or catalyst, temperature, solvent, or added ligands.
