Abstract

One of our principal goals in these studies has been to determine the effects of an azulene ring system on a carbonium ion center. It would be of interest to determine whether the effect of changing the site of the cy-carbinyl carbonium ion is directly related to the calculated rr- electron for this nonbenzenoid aromatic system.
