Abstract
Nearly a hundred different 5, 5-disubstituted barbituric acid derivatives have been prepared in the quarter of a century since Fischer and Dilthey'and Fischer and von Mering* found that certain of these derivatives could be used therapeutically as sedatives and hypnotics.
