Abstract

Chemoselective hydrogenation of unsaturated compounds bearing an o- nitrobenzenesulfonyl (Ns)-amide moiety, affording the corresponding saturated compounds, was accomplished efficiently without loss of the nitro group by using the Pd/MS3A catalyst and a H2 balloon.
