Abstract

A number of iodomethyl sulfones have been prepared and converted to the corresponding iodoso chlorides (R'SOKH2-ICL). The rates of equilibration of these dichlorides with their components in a variety of polar solvents (acetic acid, acetonitrile and nitomethane) have been investigated by procedures used in earlier studies of iodobenzene dichloride and some of its ring substitution products.
